Defense And Arrest Tactics (DAAT) Refresher Course

This class is designed to enhance your skills and to help you in your decision-making when you're on the job. YOU MUST HAVE A VALID DEFENSE AND ARREST TACTICS CERTIFICATE TO ATTEND THIS CLASS. Course Objectives

1. Examine the basis for use of force by officers and the limits on that use of force, including constitutional, statutory, administrative rule and policy.

2. Examine the fundamentals of movement and control.

3. Examine the basis for use of force by officers and the limits on that use of force, including constitutional, statutory, administrative rule and policy.

4. Apply the concepts contained within the Incident Response and Disturbance Resolution models.

5. Explain the Intervention Option modes, the circumstances under which each mode is justified and appropriate and apply the DAAT techniques within each mode.

6.Apply basic ground defense concepts and escapes.
